It's a Girl!
I have a 28-year-old patient who sent me a text today with pictures of his new baby girl. This is his first child.

“ I just wanted to thank you for all your help over the last few years. I would not be where I am at without it beyond just medicine. I love our chats and check ins and definitely wouldn’t be here without it. That being said, I’ve never been happier. So excited about being a father. I wanted you to know I greatly appreciate you and the girls in the office for everything y’all do and I’m so thankful for it. I wouldn’t be here without your help, my friend. PS-my daughter looks just like me as a baby”
He’s been a patient at our clinic, Medical Wellness Solutions in Auburn, taking Suboxone since the summer of 2019 and has done incredibly well. He has gotten his life together, been sober, gotten married, and now has a new baby girl. He’s been gainfully employed as a mechanic after starting our program. He became addicted to opioids after being prescribed hydrocodone for a sports injury at 14. His history includes opioid addiction throughout high school and young adulthood advancing from hydrocodone tablets to Percocet and then Roxycodone. Eventually, he was using IV Dilaudid and IV heroin. When he came to us on recommendation from a friend, he admitted he was sick and tired of being sick and tired and ready to make a change in his life. That’s exactly what he’s done! He has made a 180 degree change! I am so proud of him and happy for him and his wife, on the birth of their new baby, as well as celebrating his sobriety.
He is a great success story that is heartwarming and keeps me motivated!
Congrats!!
